Lady Elizabeth Stanley was born on 6 January 1588. 

She was the daughter of Ferdinando Stanley, 5th Earl of Derby and Alice Spencer.1

She married Henry Hastings, 5th Earl of Huntingdon, son of Francis Hastings, Lord Hastings and Sarah Harington, on 15 January 1601.1

She died on 20 January 1633 at age 45.1

    Her married name became Hastings. As a result of her marriage, Lady Elizabeth Stanley was styled as Countess of Huntingdon on 31 December 1604.

Elizabeth Stanley was the youngest daughter of Ferdinando Stanley, 5th earl of Derby (1559-April 16, 1594) and Alice Spencer (May 4, 1559-January 16, 1637). She married Henry Hastings (1586-1643), later earl of Huntingdon, on January 15, 1601. They had five children: Ferdinando (January 18, 1608-1655), Alice (d.1667), Elizabeth, Henry (1610-1666), and Mary (1612-1660). A patron of the arts, she was also a writer herself. A series of devotions she wrote is still extant.
