Lady Janet Hamilton was born in 1517.

She married Alexander Cuninghame, 5th Earl of Glencairn, son of William Cuninghame, 4th Earl of Glencairn and Catherine Borthwick, on 26 November 1526.[1] She and Alexander Cuninghame, 5th Earl of Glencairn were divorced in 1545.[3]

She died in 1574.

She was also known as Joan.

She was the daughter of James Hamilton, 1st Earl of Arran and Janet Bethune.[2]

From 26 November 1526, her married name became Cuninghame.
