Genesis 4:18-24

Was the first person recorded to have married two women. In his old age he became blind. While out hunting, under the direction of one of his sons, he accidentally killed his 3rd great-grandfather Cain. On this occasion he recited the first biblical poetry:

"Then Lamech said to his wives:

Adah and Zillah, hear my voice;

Wives of Lamech, listen to my speech!

For I have killed a man for wounding me,

Even a young man for hurting me.

If Cain shall be avenged sevenfold,

Then Lamech seventy-sevenfold."

Not to be confused with the other Lamech, who was the father of Noah.
