After Graduation from High School. I joined the USCG, SPENT 4 YEARS AND 30 DAYS WORKING FOR UNCLE SAM. Came back to Iowa got a job shipping and receiving paper. Then, found a better job working in health care. I while working 3 to 11 shift was a full time student at local community college and got an associates degree in heating and refrigeration. Also, I got a first class engineers license. Been working as a first class engineer at local hospital ever since (34 years now). Been working on my tree since before there was even an internet. Spent some time in local geneological Societies scanning microfish back in the early 80's. Now I am 59 1/2 Years old and making ready for retirement.
