'Lathrop carried his mother's birth surname as his first name.

Lathrop Brockway, 11th child and son of Thomas Brockway and Eunice Lathrop, was b. at Lebanon, now Columbia, Conn., on July 5,1792, and was baptized there in August,1792; removed in 1811, to Clinton, NY., where he died Oct. 17,1879. He married, on Jan. 20,1823, with MARILLA TICKNOR, who was born in 1795, and died Dec. 16, 1823. He married 2nd with JANE MARIA BENEDICT on Jan. 10,1826. She was dau. of Isaac Benedict and Fanny Hopkins, of Clinton, where she was born Jan.16,1803; and died Mar. 19,1831. (See the Benedict Genealogy,p. 120).

He married 3rd, on Feb. 7,1832, with EMILY NORTON, dau. of Rev. Dr. Asahel Strong and Mary Clap (Pitkin) Norton, grand daughter of the Rev. Timothy Pitkin and Temperance Clap, and great grand daughter of the Rev. Thomas Clap (President of YALE COLLEGE) and Mary Whiting. (See Goodwins Genealogical Notes, pp 335,336). She died at Clinton, NY, on May 19,1874.
