Leon Leon Locklear, Sr., 78, of North Charleston, retired Master Tech Sergeant with United States Air Force, entered into eternal rest on Wednesday, August 25, 2004, at his residence. Interment to follow at Carolina Memorial Park.
Born September 16, 1925, in Pembroke, N.C., the son of the late Wardell Locklear and Fannie Lowery Locklear.
Mr. Locklear was a WWII veteran serving in the Army-Air Corp and U.S. Air Force.
He was a member of Aldersgate United Methodist Church, of which he was a Sunday school teacher. Mr. Locklear was a member of the Scottish Rite and Mason Hammerton Lodge #332 AFM.
Survivors include his wife of 53 years Elsie Sampson Locklear of North Charleston, three daughters, Carolyn Hunter of Virginia, Karen Chambers of North Charleston, Sharon Wade of McKinney, Texas, four sons, Leon Locklear, Jr., of Mt. Pleasant, Jimmy Locklear of Seattle, WA, Gary Locklear of North Charleston, and Bobby Locklear of Moncks Corner, 14 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Also included are two sisters, Eunice Wadsworth, of Port Clinton, Ohio, Therea Mae Deese of New Jersey, brother Wardell "Buddy" Locklear of Hackett, Ark.
Mr. Locklear was predeceased by his brother "Tink" Locklear.
