The President of the United States of America, in the name of Congress, takes pleasure in presenting the Medal of Honor to First Sergeant Leroy H. Vokes, United States Army, for gallantry in action on 26 April 1872, while serving with Company B, 3d U.S. Cavalry, at the Loupe Fork of the Platte River, Nebraska.
