Louis S. Lineberry c. at age 17 in Guilford Co. on 8-17-1862 as a substitute for Private Henry S. Puryear. He was wounded at Bristoe Station, Va, on 10-14-1862. He returned to duty on an unspecified date and was killed at the Wilderness, Va, on 5-5-1864. "A most excellent soldier" (NCT VIII, 26).
