OWENSBORO MESSENGER INQUIRER OBITUARY - 07/11/1961 - Phil Burch: Mrs. Rena Mattingly, 80, died at 11:35 A.M. Monday at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Paul Payne of Route 2, Utica, after an illness of two years. She was the widow of the late Neal Mattingly. She was born in Knottsville on Dec. 24, 1880, and had lived in Daviess County all of her life. She was a member of the St. Stephen Catholic Church. Surviving besides her daughter are four sons, Herbert, Ed and Gerald, all of Owensboro, and Emmett of Union County; one brother, Arthur Bowlds of Knottsville; 22 grandchildren, and 21 great-grandchildren. The body is at the Owensboro Funeral Home.
