Will of LAWRENCE RIDER, DEC'D
In the Name of God Amen, I Lawrence Rider of Fayette County State of Pennsylvania being of sick and weak in body but of sound and disposing mind, memory and understanding and considering the certainty of death and the uncertainty of the time thereof and being deserves to settle my worldly affairs and thereby be the better prepared to leave this world where it shall please God to call me home do therefore make and publish this my last will and Testament in manner and form following.
That is to say first and principally I commit my soul with the friends of Almighty God and my body to the earth to be decently buried at the discretion of my Executors hereinafter named and after my debts and funeral charges are satisfied.
I give and bequeath unto my wife Mary during her natural lifetime the interest of one thousand six hundred and sixty-six and a third dollars payable annually also the house and lot we're in the occupancy of Martin Hibbler togeather (sic) with fuel if she shall see proper to make use it.
If not considered in the hands of the Executors together with a sufficiency of household furniture and my clock and base as is described as is described by bell and in as much as I have four sons and eight daughters namely Elizabeth wife of John, Mary wife of George Dubler, Catherine wife of Jacob Cover? , the heirs of Sarah wife of Adam Beganwright?, Nancy wife of George Riffle and my oldest son George, Margarette wife of John Bonawito? John, Hannah wife of Hanniah Ross all of whom have recd one thousand dollars and whereas Daniel and Susannah as yet have received nothing I will and bequeath to each of them nine hundred and fifty dollars in lieu of the one thousand received by the other heirs.
And Henry who has received five hundred dollars only and it is my will and desire that my estate both real and personal, shall be equally divided amongst my twelve children as above. Named Henry to receive equally the interest of his share during his natural lifetime and at his decease the principal to be paid over to his lawful heirs by the Executors in whose hands it then remaining.
also do hereby enforce and require it of Executors that they money at interest that is now on interest be left at interest paid all that shall be recd by them shall also be left at interest untill the year eighteen hundred and thirty-two of which time a settlement of the estate must take place and a dividend struck
and it is also my will that Daniel have the refusal of my home farm and Susannah of the River farm at the time of settlement -
and lastly I do hereby constitute and appoint my oldest son George William Saddler and Samuel Ache Executors to this my last will and testament hereby revoking all former wills by me made. In testimony, whereof I have hereunto set my hand and affixed my seal this second day of October in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and twenty-six.
