Immigrated to America Feb. 23, 1652/3. Settled in Roxbury, MA. & was the Constable in 1664. Selectman 1674-1687. Deputy to the General Court 1677-1687 & was one of the leading first settlers to Woodstock where he was Selectman (1688 'til death) & the first military officer. He & his descendants adopted the 'Morris' spelling. Woodstock Hill Cemt. ~ gravestone states, 'Here lies buried the body of Lieut. Edward Morris. Deceas'd September 1690......'
