1. Robert2 Dickson (???1)1,2 was born Abt. 1745 in New Hanover County, North Carolina, USA, and died 10 September 1783. He married Susannah Jones 1 January 1771 in Saint Matthews Parrish, Georgia, USA4, daughter of Francis Jones and Elizabeth Huckabee. She was born Abt. 1753 in South Carolina, USA. Robert's birth place New Hanover Co, NC became Duplin Co, NC in 1750, and is also listed birth place in many records.

On 16 September 1777 he was appointed Commissioner of Road by the General Assembly of Georgia. At the dawning of the Revolutionary War he was commissioned First Lieutenant of the 2nd Battalion, 1st Regiment of the upper District of St Matthews Parish in the Georgia Militia. He died of wounds he received in a battle with the Tories.

According to DAR Lineage Book ,volume 117,pg. 186; Robert died 10 September 1783. Robert Dickson was granted land in St Matthews Parrish, Georgia (1 September 1772) He sold 100 acres of the land to John Smith (Deed Book A, Screven County, Georgia, pg 286)
