She was so very special, the last years she lived in the same building in Genesco, IL where my mother lived. Everyone loved her, she was so special and jolly plus played the organ like I wish that I could have played. She played for the Senior Band, they play funny instruments but Aunt Lucy was sort of the head of it. One year they played at the IL state fair and I was proud of her even if I was a thousand miles away.
We have that type of band here in Loveland, but I think that they back there in Genesco probably were much better than this group. Maybe just because I know how good Aunt Lucy was and she was proud of her band of seniors.
I thank the Lord that Aunt Lucy lived where she did, as she was there when mother passed out and hit the floor, she came up and called the ambulance and they took Mom to the hospital, but she passed away that evening. Precious memories when she was so
available to help Mom at that time.
