About Manuel Tinio Castro

Manuel Tinio Castro served as the mayor of Licab, Nueva Ecija for three consecutive terms, from 1934 to 1943. Opting to keep his post even after Martial Law was enacted by the occupying Japanese forces, he earned the ire of the communist Hukbalahap. He was abducted and killed in captivity in 1943.
