"Marriage Registration Book of the District of Navarro-Year 1872
SARRAILH/ESPIL
On 30 Dec., 1872, year of Our Lord, after carrying out the relevant proceedings concerning a freely agreed upon marriage (according to our file entry n° 60) between the contracting parties MARCELINO SARRAL, aged 33 years, native of France, bachelor, residing in Navarro, lawful son of Juan Sarral, native of France, and María Casalis, native of France; and MARIA ESPIL, native of France, single, aged 29, lawful daughter of Domingo Espil, native of France, and Marta Ecteuda(?), native of France; and on there not being any prebendary impeachment whatsoever, on their being qualified in reference to their practice in the catholic doctrine and on acknowledging that they have come to an agreement with independence of mind, I the undersigned Vicar Curate, joined them by word of mouth after the formal rites, 'in facie Ecclesia', being witnesses Domingo Espil, aged 52, native of France, residing in Navarro, and Anita M(?), aged 43, native of Buenos Ayres, residing in Navarro. Both witnesses and the parish curate undersigned hereafter the foregoing certificate as a sign of truth."
Accuracy of source:
There is a left hand marginal note dated 17 Nov., 1919 pointing out by order arisen from the vicar general Bishop of La Plata that both, Marcelino's and his father's surname, should read SARRAILH and not Sarral as shown incorrectly in the entry. Again, Casalis is also misspelled and should read CASALIZ.
