Margaret C. Bremond, b. 1832; married WILLIAM MARSH RICE in Harris County, Texas on June 29,1850; during the early years of the Civil War, Margaret worked in the war relief effort. In 1863 she fell ill and died on Aug. 13,1863 in Houston, Texas. Although no cause has been recorded, yeallow fever and cholera are likely suspects, being regular summertime visitors to Houston and sometimes claiming hundreds of lives.
