Joseph and Margit have arrived from Budapest, Hungary and they are headed to Chicago, Illinois. Joseph has been living in the US for the past 5 years, between 1894 and 1899. His trip to Hungary was probably with the purpose of getting married with Margit (she was his cousin).
Joseph paid for the trip and he seems to have a nice sum of money in his posession.
In response to the question whether joining a relative, it just says "go back", which probably means "returning home to Chicago".
