Margaret Oliver, born 1879 in Baltimore, Maryland; married with Elias BURTON HOLMES, on March 21,1914. He was b. Jan. 8, 1870 in Chicago, Illinois, s/o Ira Holmes and Virginia Burton. He was an American film director and director. A pioneer of travel films, responsible for coining the phrase 'Travelogue'. He made the first travel film in Italy and Hawaii in the 1890's but traveled extensively throughout the world. He died July 22, 1958 at Los Angeles, Calif; she d. 1968. Both buried at Forest Lawn Cemetery, Los Angeles CA

During a photographic excursion, Burton Holmes met Margaret Oliver, a still photographer. A courtship followed and on March 21, 1914, after a moonlit proposal on a steamer's deck, Holmes married Margaret in New York's St. Stephen's Episcopal Church.
