About Margaret Plantagenet, 8th Countess of Salisbury

Margaret Plantagenet, Countess of Salisbury was born on 14 August 1473.3

She was the daughter of Sir George Plantagenet, 1st Duke of Clarence and Lady Isabel Neville.1

She married Sir Richard Pole, son of Sir Geoffrey Pole and Edith St. John, on 22 September 1494.3

She died on 28 May 1541 at age 67 at Tower of London, The City, London, England, executed by beheading, with appalling barbarity.3 She was buried at Chapel of St. Peter ad Vincula, Tower Hill, The City, London, England.3

    From 22 September 1494, her married name became Pole. She held the office of ''Lady of the Chamber to Catherine of Aragon'' in 1509.1 She succeeded to the title of Countess of Salisbury on 14 October 1513.3 She was Governor to Princess Mary (later Queen Mary) between 1520 and 1533.1 On 12 May 1539 she was attainted and all her titles were declared forfeit.3 Between 20 March 1541 and 20 May 1541 at Tower of London, The City, London, England, she was imprisoned.1
