From "The Romance of the Toutant Beauregard", by Daughters of the American Revolution, Grace King, 1937:

"Pierre Gustave Toutant Beauregard, in second nuptial married Caroline Deslondes, daughter of a prominent planter of Louisiana, when he was unexpectedly ordered ot the command of Charleston, S.C., at the very outbreak of the war. On his return hom in 1865 he was for the second time a widower, and had been for more than a year. He had borne his affliction not only like a Christian, but with all the fortitude of a soldier, none but his own military family being able to detect any sign of grief in the contenance of the bereaved husband.

Pierre Gustave Toutant Beauregard died February 20, 1893, the survivor of the full generals of the Confederate army. No children were born of this union.

Caroline Deslondes was the daughter of Major Andre Deslondes, a prominent planter of St. John the Baptist Parish, and Rosine Henriette Chastant.

Major Deslondes was a nephew of Baron de Carondelet. Their five daughters married into the Slidell, Beauregard, Adams, Seixas and Guyol families."
