The name on her christening record is Maria Christina. She was listed as Maja Stina, with her mother but without her husband, at No. 49 in the west quarter of Västervik on the 1780-84 household roll. The 1805-13 clerical survey for Gärdserum calls her Maria Holmström in 1780. Her name was given as Maja Stina Holmström in the 1780-1785 christening records of her children, and as Maria Christina Holmström on the 1776-1784 communion roll for Västervik (p. 156, 177).
