About Marija Mazuran
Everything ever said about Marija Muzuran suggests she was not only a beautiful looking woman, but from all accounts she had a beautiful personality too.
In this one surviving photograph of Marija Muzuran (right) pictured here with her cousin Marija Pamich (8/11/1922)(Died?) (sister of Baldo Pamich) (Husband of Frana Pamich. Both Marija's are dressed as Magnificent and splendid Victorian ladies. Both cousins are each wearing one of three piece's of family heirloom jewellery gifted to the girls - Pieces handed down through our families descendants which are still in circulation today.
The story of Marija Muzuran's life is a sad one - short as it was. Unbeknown to Marija & her family - Marija was at the bay of Bezdija Dǎlmt͡sija Croatia one day enjoying a day by the sea.
On this day Marija Muzuran may have been a passenger on a small 'dingey' type boat - this part is unclear. The story goes that Marija was helping others on the shore to help pull the small dingey onto the shore - One would suppose that all the helpers where pulling upon a rope. It was while Marija was pulling the boat-in & exerting physical energy in doing-so, that she there on the beach suffered a freak sudden heart attack. Marija was believed to be around 21 years of age which would have had her dying somewhere around 1912.
Marija Muzuran died of the viral infection Rheumatic Fever which affects the heart and the result is a sudden heart attack.
The diseases result is sudden death in people under the age of 30. When these sudden deaths do occur, it's often during physical activity, such as a sporting event (or in Marija's case the pulling-in of a boat).
Sadly Marija's life ended before she really had a chance to live and experience much of it. Her medical condition lay undetected until it was too late.
May both girls (Cousins) Marija Muzuran and Marija Pamich Rest In Peace. May Marija's beautiful face live-on in this one surviving lovely photograph we have of her - taken in Orebic we believe. Pocivala u miru Marija.
