Peter Field came over into Virginia from Wales; we know very little of him, but that he was a Gent of Learning and Education and was very servia to the French refugees in the Manakin Town, who used to resort to him to transact their Business as they were entire strangers to Manners, Customs and Language of the Country. He married Judith Randolph, the Relict of Henry Randolph; her maiden name was Doanes [?; Soane]
Martha, the 2nd daughter of P. Field was married to Mr. John Archer by whom she had 8 Children; John Frances, Judith, Mary, Martha, Elizabeth, William and Field. His 2nd wife [Thomas Jefferson] was Alice Ward by whom he had 1 Daughter called Alice who was mard to Capt. B. Goode.

On 8/2/1711 John and his wife Martha conveyed to William Randolph II 961 acres devised to Martha Archer by her father Peter Field, which land two days later Randolph conveyed to John Archer I, Vol 3, p. 1404. John was Exr. of Peter Field for he and Thomas Jefferson, Exr. brought suit against William Randolph.
