About Martha Mary Cabell
Devoted wife of Major General Derosey Carroll Cabell, Sr. and daughter of Colonel Elmer I. Otis and Agnes Reid Boone Otis. She was born in Camp Harney, Harney County, Oregon, where her father was the post commander.
She was the second wife of Captain (later, Major General) Derosey Carroll Cabell, Sr. a West Point officer, marrying him on 7 March 1892, about 3 years after her older sister, Mary "Mollie" Boggs Otis, died. Mollie was Derosey Carroll Cabell's first wife, and she died from complications during child birth. Martha raised Derosey's and Mollie's first child, a girl, Marie. Together they had three more children: Derosey Jr, Lee, and Agnes E.
Martha remained in San Diego after her husband's death in 1924, and it was her daughter, Mrs Lee Johnson, who completed the death certificate. Cause of death: myocardia thrombosis.
