About Martin Tommerdahl
1972 Martin Tommerdahl, 82 years old of Baker, passed away Saturday, Dec. 23, 1972 at the Fallon Memorial Hospital. Mr. Tommerdahl was born June 3, 1890 at Fergus Falls , Minn. to Mr. and Mrs. Peter Tommerdahl. He grew up and received his schooling at Fergus Falls. He came to Baker in 1915 and worked on the 101 Ranch and later homesteaded 25 miles Southeast of Baker. He was married to Myrtle E. Cox Jan. 1,1918 at Baker. He continued to farm until 1940 when he went to work for the M.D.U. at Baker. He retired in 1957. His wife preceded him in death in June of 1931. Survivors are two daughters Mrs. Lauren (Agnes) Bickle of Port Orchard, Wash. and Mrs. Harold (Fern) Lund of Baker. One brother Ben Tommerdahl of Adair, Iowa; two sisters Mrs. Minnie Rude of Sonoma, Calif; and Mrs. Olive Manns of Jamestown, N.D.; also three grandchildren and five great grandchildren. Funeral services were held from the Stevenson Funeral Chapel at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday. Rev. Robert Hempel officiated. Burial was in the Bonnievale cemetery. The Stevenson Funeral Home of Baker was in charge of the arrangements. Pallbearers were Eldon Rasmuson, Lewell Johnson, Sr., Vernon Wiseman, Martin Setinc, Karl Wenz and Vern Bublitz. Mrs. Herb Jundt accompanied Leon Newell who sang "Beyond'The Sunset" and "My God and I".
