Mary Yarwood married a James Hill in Manchester, Lancs, England April 5, 1836. There son William was born January 16, 1838. James died of inflamation of the bowels at the age of 27 years at 41 Chester Street in Birkenhead. Samuel Yarwood, father of Mary, made a will leaving Mary Hil of Manchester a share in his estate. Here father died January 16, 1838, the same date as her son's birth. Mary's brothers and sisters were: Sthrethell, Mary Ann, Samuel, George, Hannah, Joseph, Elizabeth. Some of her family came with her to America but died in the crossing.

Mary was sealed to William in the Endowment House April 16, 1854.

In 1859?/1869 Mary gave her consent for her husband, William J., to arry a second wife. He Married Martha Jennet Smith and brought her to Ogden to live. This was probably a hard experience for Mary to take. She was fifty years old and William's new bride was 23. One report says he married Martha in 1857 and was sealed to her October 4 1860 in the Salt Lake Temple. Another report says she was sealed to William J. by President Brigham Yound in his office.

On September 17, 1864 Mary obtained a divorce decree from William J. in Weber County, Utah through which she received one-third of the properties. The grounds for the divorce was incompatibility. Mary was hard working industrious woman. She was rather tall and blond completion. She enjoyed mingling with peple and have a good time. Mary had enough education to give her children schooling in her home. At the time of the divorce her oldest son was 26 and her younger children were 19, 16 and 14.

Mary was bedfast for quite some time prior to her death. She was living with some of the Roylance family and someone had to be with her all the time. The stary is related that the night before she died, she raised up inher bed and stretched out her hands as if reaching for someone. She described to the party staying with her a person in white that was standing at the foot of her bed. From her description it was decided that it was her father, Samuel, who had come for her. She passed away the next morning, March 30, 1892, bringing to the close the life of a strong stalwart woman.
