Mercy Coombs was b. 3 Jan 1674/75 in Middleborough, MA, the daughter of Francis Coombs and Deborah Morton. She d. 25 Mar 1718 in Middleborough, MA. She married Samuel Barrows. After Mercy's death, he married second Joanna Wood on 24 Feb 1718/19 in Rehoboth, MA.

Samuel and Mercy were Congregationalists, members of the First Church of Christ in Middleborough. He was a deacon there.
