About Michael Shalom Fagan
I have been working on building my family tree into Geni, as well as connecting it into as many other trees as possible. If you have any questions, you can send me a message through Geni or email me - my address is listed on this profile.
I have also had my DNA tested with 23andMe, so let me know if you want to connect on there as well.
There are several families that I know to be related to mine but not specifically enough to put the connections into Geni:
- Zeit -> Zajd family which moved from Poland to Boston
- Botknecht -> Botnick/Botnick family which moved from then-Poland to Toronto
- Zilberschmidt/Silberschmidt -> Ginsburg family which moved from now-Ukraine to Huntsville/Toronto
The most interesting/mysterious story in my ancestry is my grandmother's half-sister Brocha Lvova, born in Kherson (now Ukraine), grew up in Harbin (now China) with her aunt and uncle, went to the University of Southern California, moved to New York to work for the Haganah, and was murdered in 1947 in Tokyo after 8 months living there working for the Soviet Union as a translator in the war crimes tribunal and then for the American war department. She is buried in Toronto. Much of her life is still a mystery and I have not yet succeeded in finding any living family of her mother.
