Mildred grew up in Kennard Nebraska. Her mother was Emily ("Olo") Renshaw Ward and her father Lewis was a succesful business man there. He owned grocery store, drug store (which his son ran) and eventually an electric
company (which was run by another son). The "depression" was a difficult time as the town people continued to get their groceries and he allowed them to "Put it on the cuff". They never repaid him so financially he was pretty well ruined. He lived with his youngest daughter and husband, Glen and Nina Rosenbaum in the family home until his death.
Ella Virginia Zeigler Mundorf Durand was born to this union.
After the divorcee, Mildred married Frank Timblin and they had a daughter Wanda Lou.
