Milton was a son of Minerva Townsend and Luther Dailey. He traveled west to join the 1849 Gold Rush, where along the way he met Sarah Jane Wilson. They were married May 1 1850 and made their home in Ogden Utah. Together they had three daughters: Mary Minerva, Martha Emmoline, and Amanda Maria.
He was a member of the Territorial Militia and was called to protect settlers from Indians along the Salmon River and assist stranded pioneers on the way to Utah.
Milton and Sarah moved south to Harrisburg Utah in 1862. There his skills as a stone mason were put to work and he built homes,granaries, cellars, venses and canals of the abundant rock that was in the area.
Sarah died in 1873 and was buried in Harrisburg. The next year Milton married Sarah's cousin, Mary Malinda Wilson. They were married oh June 14 1874 in Salt Lake City. Their children were: Madelene, Marion, Wilson, Milton Lther, Elphraim, Sarah Frances, and Flora Bell
In In 1899 Milton moved to Paragonah, where his daughter Amanda lived with her husband, and bought an adobe house. There he lived until he passed away in 1913.
