Moses D. Proctor Jr., son of Moses D. Proctor and Lucy Wright, was b. in Washington, New Hampshire on Apr. 21,1836. He married with MATILDA M. HOWLETT of Bradford, NH on Sept. 23,1860. He was a soldier in the war of the Rebellion and died at Hampton, Virginia on May 17,1864.

His regiment organized at Manchester NH and mustered on Sept. 4, 1862. Left state and moved to Washington, D.C. September 22-25; thence to Frederick, Md., Sept 30; to Sandy Hook, Md., Oct. 4, and to Pleasant Valley Oct. 6th. Attached to 1st Brigade, 3rd Division, 9th Army Corps, Army of the Potomac, to April 1863. Ist Brigade, 2nd Division, 7th Army Corps, Dept. of Virginia, to July 1863. 3rd Brigade. Getty's Division, US Forces, Norfolk and Portsmouth, Dept. of Virginia and North Carolina, to Apr. 1864. 2nd Brigade, 1st Division, 18th Army Corps, Dept. of Virginia and North Carolina, to Dec. 1864. 2nd Brigade, 3rd Division, 24th Army Corp, Dept. of Virginia, to June 1865.
