In the early 20th century the Mitnaged Rabbi was was Yosef Rabinson, who was later replaced by his son-in-law Moshe David Shuv and the Chasidic Rabbi was Yaakov Kopel Klachkin. The two rabbis served through Latvian rule and died in the holocaust.
