Muriel de Moels was born in 1322.[1] She was the daughter of John de Moels, 4th Baron Moels and Joan Lovel.[1]

She married Thomas Courtenay, son of Hugh de Courtenay, 1st Earl of Devon and Agnes de St. John.[1] Her married name became Courtenay.[1]
