Nancy Pierce, 2nd child of Gov Benjamin Pierce and Anna Kendrick, was born November 2,1792 in Hillsborough, New Hampshire. She married GEN. SOLOMON McNEIL, brother of Gen John McNeil (who married the eldest Pierce daughter, Elizabeth). Residing in Hillsboro most of her life, she and Solomon served as sometime surrogate parents to the children of Benjamin Kendrick Pierce (her brother) while he was in military service; as did Solomon's brother John's family while John was stationed in both Ft Mackinaw, WI and Boston, Massachsetts...

Nancy and Solomon lived for many years in the Lower Village in Hillsboro where Solomon kept a general store before they moved to his father's homestead.

They had 3 children: Ann McNeil (7/16/1816), Solomon Jr (5/20/1820), and John McNeil (11/6/1822)..

Nancy died April 27, 1837; Solomon died April 30, 1863.
