About Narciso Rosa Padilla
D. Narciso Padilla y Rosa, originally from Lingayen, Pangasinan, was a rich lawyer and merchant with several businesses and many commercial real estate properties in the Escolta and in the surrounding “arrabales” districts of Manila. He was also a Regidor de la Audencia Real. D. Narciso, together with his grandson, the famous Filipino painter D. Felix Eduardo Resurreccion-Hidalgo y Padilla, were immortalized in a portrait done by the great Tondo maestro Antonio Malantic, one of only four Malantic paintings to survive to the present day.
