Narcissus was the daughter of Purdy and Winnie Locklear Lowry. She married Jasper Sampson on Apr. 6, 1893 in Saddletree, NC.

The following was taken from the Sep. 27, 1948 edition of THE ROBESONIAN:

Funeral services for Mrs. Narcissus Sampson, 80, wife of the late Jasper Sampson of Lumberton, R. 3, Saddletree township, will be held Tuesday at 3 p.m. from Mt. Olive Baptist church, with Rev. Tommy Swett and Rev. L. W. Jacobs in charge. Burial will be in the Christian cemetery on R. 3. Mrs. Sampson died Sunday at 3:30 p.m. at her home.

She was a daughter of the late Purdie Lowry and Mrs. Winnie Locklear Lowry. Surviving are 3 sons, Worth, Joey, and Boncil Sampson of R. 3; 3 daughters, Mrs. Reedy Locklear and Mrs. Clem Locklear of R. 3, and Mrs. A. Y. Paul of Florida, several grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
