About Nathan Elias KNIGHT

Farmed at York 13-10-1841/44 in partnership with Henry Landor pasturing at the Dale. In Sep 1850 appointed to Custom House Agent. Church of England. In Feb 1845 advertised for a shepherd at York & susequently hired John Thompson. Received foods from England per "Dispatch" in Dec 1847. Left per "Empress" for Sth Aust. in April 1850 but later returned. He was the only son of Nathan of Manchester. Nathan arrived on the "Advocate" on 27-8-1841 settling on the Swan River at Guildford. Later when he moved to the York District he entered into a pasturing partnership with Henry Landor (surgeon practising at York) at the Dale. While there he visited Bridgetown where he met Miss Hester who came to WA with her four brothers and parents in the Lotus on 6-10-1829.
