About Nathaniel Reynolds, Jr.

Baptized in First Church of Christ Boston in March 1665.

His mother died in 1663, as did his older sister and his grandmother, Mary Reynolds, probably of an epidemic. When Nathaniel was two or three, his father remarried and Nathaniel eventually hadfive half-brothers and three half-sisters.

"Was he was at an adventurous age, about 13 or 14, King Phillip's Indian War broke out and spread terror through the Massachusetts Bay Colony, and Nathaniel's military father went out in command of a company to fight Indians near Lowell, and in Rhode Island.

When his father, Captain Nathaniel, moved to Bristol about 1680, Nathaniel Jr. seems to have stayed in Boston on some of his father's property, or Robert's homestead there."

From "The History and Descendants of Robert and Mary Reynolds (1630-1931?) of Boston Mass" compiled by Marion H. Reynolds. (The Reynolds Family Association, 1931), pg. 60.
