About Niegello de Adair

He signed as a witness, a document for the Hereditary Sheriff of Galloway in 1426, being a mature man. He had previously settled in Potre. His wife's name is not known. Their castle was Dunskey, near Portpatrick, on the Atlantic Ocean. It is still designated on the Historical Map of Scotland. He was a witness to the restoration of the lands of the Lochnaw by William Douglas to Andrew Agnew in 1426. His father, (Robert Fitzgerald de Adair), had a second son, Robert Adair of Kinhilt, ancestor of the Adairs of Genoch.
