About Nora Rhodes (Wilson)
Born at 6 St James's Crescent, Waterloo, Pudsey, Jan 2 1935. Educated at Pudsey and in Bradford. Worked as a shorthand typist. Aged 19 married Lawrence Rhodes at St Lawrence's Church, Pudsey, June 19, 1954. First home was at 3 Womersley Place, Stanningley, between 1954-59, then at Goldthorpe, South Yorks, 1959-64, then at Askern South Yorks 1964-67, then at Guiseley, near Leeds, 1967-83. Wife of police constable. Mother of four.
On husband's retirement from the police in 1982 they bought a house Waltergarth, at Station Rd, Horton-in Ribblesdale, North Yorkshire where she lived 1983-85.
Waltergarth was a guesthouse for travellers, walkers in the Dales, &c. Diagnosed with panceatic cancer in Dec 1984, aged 49, she died at Horton, Saturday May 18, 1985. Deeply mourned. She is buried at Guiseley Cemetary.
