• Herverus, among those who came over with William the Conqueror from Normandy to England, in 1066, was a man bearing the name of Herverus. After the great battle of Hastings, this Herverus obtained large possessions in Norfolk, Sufforlk and Lancashire. He had two sons, Walter Herverus & Hamon, and one daughter Alicia, who married Ormus Magnus.
