At the time of the 1920 census they lived in the Stella Precinct in Cowlitz County. He lived in Longview in 1934 at the time of his mother's death. In 1940, at the time of his father's death, he lived in Willow Grove.
He was a member of the Kelso Elks and LIWU.

Obituary
Hendrickson - Oscar Nels, 60, 2044 44th Ave., Longview, died March 17 in a local hospital. He was born June 25, 1905 in Astoria, Ore. He was a retired longshoreman, a resident of Longview about 60 years, a member of LIWU and Kelso Elks.
Survivors include a widow Margaret, at home; three sons, A. Donald, Arnold L., Melvin O., all of Longview; one daughter, Mrs. Bernice Thomas of Longview; five grandchildren; four brothers, John, of Longview, Bill of Astoria, Chris of Portland, Ike of Kelso; one sister, Mrs. Ethel Kaunisto of Longview.
Services will be held Tuesday at 11 a.m. at the Ditlevsen-Moore Chapel with Rev. Arthur Wulf officiating. Interment in Longview Memorial Park, Ditlevsen-Moore Funeral Home is in charge.
