Patricia C. Bodell, 86
Providence, RI — Patricia C. Bodell, 86, died peacefully July 31, 2011, at Cape Cod Hospital in Hyannis surrounded by her family.
She was the wife of 62 years of the late Stanley C. Bodell.
Born in Cleveland, OH, she was the daughter of the late Melville JM and Marselle (Wagoner) Cox of Shaker Heights, OH, and was a Colonial Dame. She was a resident of Providence and a summer resident of Wianno on Cape Cod.
Mrs. Bodell was a longtime member of the Perennial Planters Garden Club in Providence, a Garden Club of America judge and a tricolor award recipient.
Her philanthropic endeavors included being a member of the Junior League, past Museum Associate of The Rhode Island School of Design Museum, past board member of Bradley Hospital, past board member of Trinity Repertory Theater and past board member of the Smith Hill Center. She was a member of Agawam Hunt Club, The Hope Club, the Handicraft Club, and the Wianno Club on Cape Cod.
She leaves five children: Stanley C. Bodell Jr. of Naples, FL, Adelaide Bodell Milhaupt of New Canaan, CT, Alexander B. Bodell of Providence, Tish Bodell Hopkins of Rumford, RI, and James H. Bodell of Cohasset; 16 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
A memorial service was held at The Historic Chapel at Swan Point Cemetery. Burial will be private.
Donations in her memory may be made to Trinity Repertory Theater, or The Rhode Island School of Design Museum.
