He came over from Ireland in 1847 with his wife and a whole passel of kids...only a "few" were born after they got to Missouri...it's hard to decipher the census(es), and some of these kids may not actually be his, but quite a few of them are confirmed...

In a Marshall, Saline County, Missouri census dated 1860 (only 13 years after they immigrated here from Ireland), Peter Duffey, age 60, resided with the following:

Bridget, age 53

Christopher, age 23

Thomas, age 19

Peter, age 17

Ann, age 16

Mary, age 13

Christopher, age 10

Death: 1886, USA

Patrick Duffey & his wife immigrated to the USA abt. 1854 and settled in Antiock, MO circa 1860.

If the above information is correct, then his son Patrick's obituary is incorrect when it stated that they immigrated in 1847.
