Peder Valentin Rosenkilde (1772 – 1836) born in Stavanger, was merchant and did run one of Stavanger’s biggest Trading Houses, in addition he was consul, chief in commander of civic guard and politician. He was one of 112 men that, in 1814, made the first Norwegian Constitution at Eidsvoll. Peder Valentin started as merchant of grain and salt and gradually he turned his interest towards shipping as owner of several ships and shipyard.
