Peter Brickey was born in Tennessee in 1794 coming to Washington Co.,Missouri in 1817 and in 1821 bought land on Osage Fork (Huzzah Creek) in Crawford Co., MO. Peter was the owner of 4 slaves in 1850.

In 1814 Peter married Nancy M. Sutton. They had 7 children - Mary Elizabeth, Winifred, Jeremiah, Cornelius, Jarrett, John Sutton, and Peter. In 1834 he married Mary (Polly) Wizor and on February 16, 1864 he married Hannah Hawkins Finger.
