About Petrona Alejandro Mercado
Petrona Alejandro Mercado was a dressgoods merchant in Calamba, Laguna. She was widowed shortly after marriage. Upon her mother’s death, her siblings Potenciana and Francisco moved to Calamba. Though Petrona died not long after her siblings' migration, her brother and sister continued to make their home there. Her brother Francisco is the father of Jose Rizal.
