Petronilo and Severita were said to marry after they had all their children (Sarah, Mary, Guadalupe, Peter, Joe, David, Abraham) at the urging of Sister Rosario, Petronilo's daughter from his first wife Josefa. Petronilo met Severita at the hotel/boarding house he owned. She was a housekeeper there. The 1920 census shows Petronilo living with his first wife, Josefa, still in Deming, New Mexico. She passed away shortly after 1920. Petronilo and Severita's first child, Sarah, was born around 1922 or so. They resided in Pheonix, AZ.
