Pvt. Philip Empey Sr.-( rank of Private) Served under: Capt. Soffrines Deychert in March of 1757 Enlistment Date: 5/22/1780 Kings Royal Regiment New York In 1781-3, he served under: Capt. Patrick Daly

In 1784, he had drawn Lots for land in Royal Township #2 (Present day Cornwall, Ontario, Canada)

Philip Sr. appears on the Kings Royal Regiment New York (KRRNY) loyalist master muster roll P.L.2d 1786 of the East district as Corporal Philip.

He fought in the Revolutionary War,Battle of Oriskany,New York.

Also on the roll were his sons,Henry John,Jacob,Peter and Philip Jr.

...the Petitioner received many insults and Abuses from the Rebels, prior to being confined in Jail in Spring 1777, till he would swear Allegiences to the Congress, but on refusal was put in the Dungeon, where he continued expecting nothing but Death, by the severity of his Confinement. Wherefore, to save his Life, he submitted to swear whatever they desired him.


He was reimprisoned with three sons, then escaped.
The Rebels imprisoned his wife and children in the Johnstown Jail.
After Philip escaped, a 50 pound reward was offered for his capture-dead or alive.
His Estate and effects real and personal, were confiscated.
