Huachuca and Grant, Ariz. July 1905-Sept. 1907 assistant to the superintendent of public building and grounds and assistant to the chief, 2nd Division, General Staff; September 1907-1909 5th U. S. Cavalry Rgt. at Ft. Huachuca, Ariz. serving as troop commander, athletic officer, recruit instructor, range officer; July 1909-1913 5th U. S. Cavalry Rgt. by 1910 at Schofield Barracks; member of regimental polo team; March 11, 1911 1stlt. April 1913 married Isabelle or Isabel McGunnegle, daughter of Col. George K. McGunnegle at Honolulu; 1913-1915 5th U. S. Cavalry Rgt. at Ft. Myers; 1915 captain of the regimental polo team; 1915 developed chronic diabetics; March 29-October 1916 punitive expedition into Mexico; July 1916 capt., cavalry; August 1917 temporary maj., cavalry and assigned to the General Staff; Feb. 17, 1918 died at Washington, D. C. and buried in Arlington (Va.) National Cemetery; Children: Carlina and Philip Jr. as of 1920 U. s. Census Isabel and her two children living with her father in San Francisco.
